McClain E. Bryant, JD, MBA is the Director of Municipal Policy Programming. In this role, she will be the 20/20 Liaison with the U.S. Conference of Mayors, the African American Mayors Association, and the National League of Cities.
McClain is Director of Policy for Mayor Sly James of Kansas City, Missouri. McClain manages the Mayor's policy staff; advises the Mayor on a variety of policy issues, with an emphasis on economic development, housing, technology, innovation, workforce development and entrepreneurship; manages the Mayor's leadership positions in several national organizations and initiatives such as the United States Conference of Mayors, the African American Mayors Association, the federal ConnectHome and TechHire initiatives; and works with city staff and community organizations to implement the policy interests of the Mayor. Formerly, McClain practiced law for 7 years at one of the Nation's largest law firms where she specialized in Campaign Finance and Ethics, White Collar Litigation and Government Affairs, Government Affairs and Public Policy. She has a variety of political and civic experience, including her current service as an elected Trustee of the Metropolitan Community Colleges and several non-profit boards, and having previously served as a national co-chair of the Ready for Hillary PAC and regional lead for Generation44, as a mayoral appointee to the Kansas City Board of Parks and Recreation Commissioners.
